How Founders Can Make the Grind Bearable
June 16, 2025
Startups are hard, but you don’t need to deliberately suffer to succeed.
Most founders love shipping new features, the feeling is intoxicating. But that doesn't mean it's guaranteed progress.
1. Launches Need Goals. Hold each new launch accountable to metrics on a reasonable timeline.
2. Decide in Advance. Set your success and failure states in advance of the launch, you do this before a launch to avoid making decisions later, when emotions might be running high.
3. Everybody Fails on Something. Don't expect every new feature you launch will be loved by your customers, just because you're excited about it.
