Lots of people dream of starting their own business, but most never get a real chance. You might be both motivated and have a great idea, but sometimes there’s obstacles on those first few steps, that’s what the Sterling Road University Grant is for.

Each year, we give £2,000 to 25 teams from universities, including:

• Oxford University

• University of Cambridge

• Imperial College London

• London School of Economics

• University College London

• University of Manchester

• Durham University

• University of Southampton

• University of Edinburgh

• University of Bergen

• Norwegian University of Science and Technology

The application takes about 15 minutes. If selected, you’ll receive the money, server credits and join our bi-monthly group office hours sessions... No contracts. No equity. No strings attached.

The program is designed for founders at the idea stage who are ready to build but haven’t raised capital yet. It’s a place to share progress, get advice, and test your idea with your first customers, all with the support of an experienced mentor.

Past recipients have gone on to Y-Combinator and other programs, launching tools from biotech to fabric creation and raising their seed round.
