The Startup Deployment Schedule
March 29, 2024
Today, we’re talking about how to launch a new version twice a week. As your startup grows, maintaining a frequent release schedule becomes challenging.
Today we’re talking about if you should fire a new employee right away? The sad reality is:
Yes, and it’s usually better for everyone if you do.
New hires joining your startup should be enthusiastic and capable. You should be excited by their production early.
This is not to say that new hires don’t require proper onboarding and time to ramp up. Of course, they do — but as part of that process, they should be completing clearly defined tasks. And more importantly, you should be thrilled by what you’re seeing.
If that’s not the case, make sure you communicate early and often. But don’t keep someone on for months if you know it’s not a fit. Firing early gives them a chance to start fresh quickly and never mention your company in their history again.
Best of luck out there.
