Startup Sales — 5 Common Sales Mistakes by Founders
August 12, 2025
Founders are responsible for the first sales a startup will make. For many founders, this is one of their very first experiences of sales and mistakes are often made.
Today we’re talking about how to iterate on your MVP — Minimum Viable Product.
1. Don’t rush to build, or you will have to build twice. Use demo and no-code tools to test with customers before trying to deploy a full application.
2. Expect your early versions to break in unexpected ways. Often it’s even a struggle to get testers accessing basic functionality. Don’t get discouraged. This is part of the process. You need to keep testing with customers.
3. Don’t add more features. Bug fixes and a buttery smooth onboarding process are usually much more important than new features. This early, you really only need one feature.
Best of luck out there.
