Watch now | Today, we’re talking about a startup’s “moat” or competitive advantage. An investor usually has to believe that your competitive advantage is different enough for customers to care and is defensible.
If you haven’t talked to 200 potential customers, you’re probably not ready to build. Regardless of your market or idea, you need lots of feedback before you start. Here’s why:
Doing that many calls pretty much guarantees you will know if potential customers urgently need your service.
By confirming potential customers need the product, you should only have to build it once.
As you find the urgent need, potential customers will want your help and these are usually your first beta testers and paid customers.
